Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] forgottenlover...

Anonymous critique meme. Give me your worst/best.

Also, I think my laptop's screwed. All my programs, everything with .exe has turned into .lnk(or is it .ink?) for some reason and no one has any idea how to fix it. Help?

That is very bad. However it may be fixable. You did not say your OS so this is for XP.

Maybe try booting into safe mode and use System Restore to go back to a previous restore point. You might have luck with that.

Otherwise you will have to correct the registry file associations and that may be difficult. Back up your registry file before you try it.

Here at this site http://www.dougknox.com/
under XP fixes within File associations there are some registry corrections. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/fileassoc/linkfile_fix.zip

This suggestion came from here http://www.techsupportforum.com/archive/index.php/t-8664.html where they fixed that same problem. It is a useful forum.

It appears to be caused by a very damaging trojan - good luck.

Blah. Sorry about that. This happened to my bro's computer and I spent hours fixing it. Here's a brief outline of what we followed:

Basically, you got an evil, evil virus. Stupid viruses. (Or is that viri?)

... Thank you. I love you. So much.

It's pretty much fixed. Basically downloaded the default short association and default exe association and imported into the Registry editor. And now it's all fixed. All I need to do is to scan with Spybot now.

Thank you~~~~~
