Haruhi stared. And gaped. She blinked a little. And stared some more.

Out of the peripheral of her vision, she could see Hikaru and Kaoru staring also, so shocked that they couldn't speak.

"Hiroshi..."

"Masaharu..."

The two newcomers, wearing a school uniform that Haruhi vaguely recognised, were curled around each other. Their hands were entwined, eyes gazing at each other and one of them, Haruhi really didn't know which and she didn't want to know, had a hand around the other's shoulder and was pulling him close.

They looked exactly the same.

"Ah, Hiroshi... I..."

"You know, I don't get you guys. How the fuck did you two change so quickly and do you both bring hair dye everywhere?!" A voice, irritable, suddenly came from Haruhi's left.

She jerked. The twins blinked.

"Saa, Akaya. You've just spoiled their fun."

"I thought we're supposed to be making a good impression? This is not a good impression!"

"Where's Sanada? Where's Atobe? Did they sneak off to make-out again?"

The two (are they twins?) untangled themselves from each other. One of them sighed, raising his left hand to push his reflective glasses up his nose. The other placed his left arm on his... (twin's? brother's? friend's? what?!) companion's arm.

Haruhi blinked rapidly.

"Goddamnit, Akaya. And we were just getting to the best part too!"

"What brought this on in the first place?" One of the newcomers said. Haruhi blinked again. That boy... looked a lot like a girl, with shoulder-length wavy hair and all.

The 'twin' on the right pointed to Hikaru and Kaoru. "Perhaps we are too competitive for our own good. However, we are Rikkai."

"True. But I don't believe that competitiveness extends this far."

The 'twin' on the left opened his mouth, but Haruhi held up a hand and waved it frantically.

"Wait. Just... wait. What's hapenning here and who are you people?!"

"Are some Ouran students unaware of the Sports/Cultural Festival? How crass." A new voice spoke, haughty and arrogant. Haruhi was oddly reminded of Kyouya-senpai.

"Keigo..." A deeper voice berated. Haruhi was now reminded of Mori-senpai. Her head spun.

"Ah! Fukubuchou! Atobe-san! You guys didn't sneak away together to make out?"

"We got lost, Akaya. And to answer your question, miss," the Mori-senpai-but-not person said, staring straight at her, his gaze intense. Haruhi blinked. He could tell? "We are Rikkaidai Fuzoku, Senior High Division's Tennis Club. We are here for the annual sports/culture festival. And..." he turned his eyes towards the 'twins', for which Haruhi was slightly grateful. Everything was rather overwhelming. Dealing with the Host Club didn't prepare her for this.

"Niou! Yagyuu! What the hell are you two doing?"

"Pretending to be twins," the 'twin', either 'Niou' or 'Yagyuu', Haruhi really couldn't tell.

"Would you rather that we both change to Masaharu's usual guise, Sanada-kun?"

"I believe," a voice interrupted, soft and commanding. Haruhi was reminded of Honey-senpai when he was very serious. The effect was very odd when combined with the rather feminine boy she saw. "That it would be the best for everyone if you just change back to how you usually look. No more switches, please."

"Yes, buchou. Masaharu?" The 'twin' on the right said.

The 'twin' on the left, 'Masaharu', apparently, sighed. "Fine, fine. Party poopers, all of you."

Haruhi watched, dumbstruck, as the 'twin' on the left shook out his hair into messy spikes. He took off his glasses and took out a small bottle, which he started spraying at his hair. The brown came off, and was replaced by silvery-white.

Beside her, the twins got a certain gleam in their eyes as they watched him.

"Better?"

"Very much so. Atobe? Do you know the way around this school? We have to find a certain... Host Club, is it? And we have to find Hyoutei too... How troublesome."

Haruhi's eyes widened, and she saw the vision of a nice, quiet, normal school day disappear in a wisp of black-coloured smoke.
