I agree, the descriptions are wonderful, it really felt as if I was there with them, riding into the White City and hearing those trumpets (can we call them 'proverbial' yet? It's such a beautiful image, I think we can ;) ). I love all the details, the tree that blossoms, the descriptions of their clothes, the crown in Aragorn's hair (what a picture!) and the garden, tended to at Arwen's orders. Strangely my favorite part was the end, with Boromir leaving for The Shire. The urgency of Merry's letter, his departure at the brink of winter, all of this creates a special atmosphere that almost had me biting my nails: Will he be on time? Will he find peace of mind after talking to Frodo? And that reunion between Aragorn and Boromir... so few words and yet so incredible intense- a wonderful scene. Arwen's reasoning is fascinating- that it is her belief that his heart just grew wider to encompass Boromir- a beautiful thought, and a great foundation for a relationship that has room for all three of them.
I'm very much looking forward to the conclusion of this?
PS: Maybe my problem doesn't lie with Arwen but with Arwen/Aragorn... seeing them in bed together made me want to cover my eyes, again-- *headdesk*
