1. He doesn't regret killing that rapist. That man deserves it, for touching his precious little brother.

2. The reasons why he won't ever let Klavier visit is much more selfish than he likes to admit. It's not that he doesn't want Klavier to be discouraged; it's simply that he prefers to remain the perfect brother in Klavier's eyes.

3. He will kill Manfred von Karma one day. Because that will be right and just.

4. Part of him regrets leaving that maximum security prison before he could kill the man who raped him, but this part is mostly drowned out by his barely-clinging rationality that makes him very glad to have disappeared from that place.

5. While in prison, he keeps himself composed by imagining exactly how - in vivid detail - he is going to kill the people who were tormenting him. Especially von Karma.

This is actually the catalyst to his madness, rather than the events themselves.
